Thank You to the PEI Wildlife Conservation Fund!

The PEI Wildlife Conservation Fund (WCF) provides financial support to groups working on wildlife and conservation projects across Prince Edward Island. The fund is supported by hunting, angling, and trapping licences, as well as annual Conservation Plate fees.

Managing Invasive Species and Restoring Habitat!

The RBWA has been actively managing invasive species at priority sites. Staff have removed invasive plants, replanted areas with native species, installed new signs to raise awareness, and will continue monitoring and controlling these species to protect native habitats and support healthy ecosystems.

Restoring Habitat with Red Oaks!

RBWA has been planting Red Oaks (Quercus rubra) across local watersheds. These trees are grown from acorns collected each fall. Red Oaks provide many ecological benefits. Their acorns and leaves are an important food source for wildlife, and the trees offer valuable nesting habitat for birds. With their deep and extensive root systems, Red Oaks are also well suited to withstand strong winds and changing climate conditions.

The RBWA is now chainsaw certified!

Staff attended the chainsaw certification course offered by the Department of Forests, Fish, and Wildlife.
